The Edmonds School district CTE department wants to help schools start robotics teams. Our team is putting on an event to teach about the FLL program. There will be classes for students about what FLL is and how it works and separate classes for adults about how to put together a team and run it successfully. There will also be displays and activities, including building a simple NXT robot and programming it to do a mini-golf competition. The LHS boosters will be available to provide snacks and lunch or you can bring your own. Visitors may come for the whole event or only part. There is no cost involved (unless you opt to buy lunch). Click here to download the FLLflyer or FLLposter files. SPONSORS Presentation for EdCC Foundation will be on Tuesday, June 8th at 7:30 am. Four students will be going with Bismarck to their board meeting to discuss our year and to thank them for their support. We will also be going soon to Buca di Beppo.
General Info: FIRST Lego League is for 9-14 year old students. Teams of 10 or fewer students compete in robotic competitions. Competition field parts and robots are made from Lego kits. Teams also need to do a science research project and present it to judges. Teams are judged on how well they built their robot, on how well it performs, on how well they present their research project, on teamwork and spirit. There are regional, state and national competition levels. To learn more about FLL click on the FIRST logo above to link to the national website USFIRST.org. End of Season party was a really pleasant event, the adults chatted and the kids played video games. Special thanks to Nan for letting us invade her house and for doing the cooking. Thanks also go to our sponsor, Basketball Hoops Unlimited for providing much of the food.
